Got mine to work guys. NB: The pre-load (the copy before the crack) copy that all of us got earlier is harder to figure out and I gave up. What I did to get it working: (1) Got the iso version with the skidrow crack, not the pre-load; (2) As poster ppppp linked, grabbed a copy of openAL:; (3) Mounted the unpacked ISO and installed; (4) Applied the skidrow crack. Hi – sorry for my far-from-perfect English. I’ve got an issue here. I downloaded and installed missing openal32.dll, then I installed the game, copied the crack and the game works. I made it to the Friendly Arms Inn, no bug so far – BUT!!! I am unable to recruit the new character Dorn Il-Khan, He is present on the 1st level of friendly arms keep, I can start conversation with him but he wont talk back to me and wont join my company.

I tried to look it up on the baldursgate.com forums but nobody seems to have such problem. There is an option in the game menu – “store” where you supposedly can buy more content for the game. Two characters: Neera and Dorn Il-Khan are displayed there and even more portraits can be bought there, but you cant click the “buy” button – thus can not buy any characters nor portraits – on top of it you can choose the new portraits while creating character (which suggests the portraits are unlocked) – it puzzles me then. Are the new characters unlocked? If yes, why can’t i recruit Dorm Il-Khan even though the description of the character at the official site suggests he would happily accept my companionship? So far I was unable to meet Neera (or any newly added character), so I can’t confirm if this issue happens only in the case with Dorn or if it happens with all new characters.
