Python With Close File there. The reason the person said that was because boxing games are simple and tend to have little depth, where Street Fighter, similar to boxing, has movements and strategies you need to practice very heavily. It's considered a very skill and timing based game.
So while it's not a boxing game, it has many elements that are also important in boxing, and they matter more in Street Fighter than they do in Fight Night. With that said, I don't think an SF player is going to step into a boxing gym and know how to box. I see what you mean. The game has crazy high skill ceiling. My problem with street fighter is that it takes too much effort to learn (for a student with limited time). You really do need to go out of your way to learn all of the moves for each character, and all of the frame data, and all of the set-ups, and all of the 1f combos ect.
I have 200 hours in Street Fighter, and I still suck at the game (about 800pp). What I liked about Fight Night Champion in comparison was that you didn't need to study the game to get better, you could literally get better by playing it for hours upon hours, which eventually got me to top 20 in the world. It could have been so much more compelling for high level play if the mechanics weren't so exploitable. (unlike Street Fighter, which is very hard to exploit, as everything has a clear counter strategy) But yeah I definitely see what you mean in terms of depth and strategy.
SF is more about strategy and knowledge, while FNC is more about reflexes and instinct. I can passively battle the COM or people for days on end, and I won't get any better at SF without actively studying it, but it's the exact opposite in FNC.
Panza Kick Boxing is a very nice PC conversion of the classic Amiga kick boxing game by French company Futura. Probably one of the best fighting games ever made (and one of the few Thai boxing games in existence).
Features good smooth animations, easy but still complex enough controls which make up for great gameplay. The character development option with a training gym, where you can improve your boxer's abilities is also very nice - as is the option to customize your attacks. The PC conversion even features all the samples from the Amiga game including the cool title tune by Michel Winogradoff. Driver Ati Radeon Xpress 200m Amd Hammer. Sadly, there is no soundblaster driver for them but just sample-drivers for the PC speaker and adlib sound card. The game has some problems on modern computers such as the demo showing up after a couple of milli-seconds on the menu screen, giving you hardly any time to choose the various options. A slow-down util might help. Two thumbs up!
Note: if you like the game, also check out the better but lesser-known sequel called Best of the Best, also on this site:) Review By HOTUD.
